How to prepare wheat Flour by age

  1. 6–9 months

Use only in cooked foods — never offer raw batter or dough. Bake or pan-cook until fully set, then cut pancakes, muffins or fritters into finger-length strips soft enough to squash between thumb and finger.

  2. 9–12 months

Bake into soft muffins, pancakes and fritters cut into bite-sized pieces, or use to thicken homemade sauces. Always cook through.

  3. 12 months+

Plain or wholemeal flour in any home baking; wholemeal adds fibre. Still cook through — no raw dough or batter.
